A native of the
Washington, DC area, Stephen spent most of his life pursuing technical
interest and challenges. Armed with a Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering
and a desire to invent the next big thing, he began his professional
career working for the infamous National Security Agency.
Three positions and five years later, he realized that something was
missing. So, Stephen, his wife, and their two children moved to
California , intent on pursuing dreams that were dormant since
childhood.
Making his directorial debut with the short film thriller Damsels in
Distress, Powell teams up with awarding winning director of photography
Tim Otholt, composer Ashera J. Powell, and Perrine Productions to
deliver a fresh look at domestic violence in an urban society.
